Choosing The Right Marukyu Groundbait
January 2011 : Marukyu have introduced two new groundbaits particularly suited to winter fishing. Both groundbaits are designed to be used at water temperatures down to 6 degrees which is just about the lowest temperature that carp will feed in. Both groundbaits have low protein levels and low food values since fish are not going to gorge themselves when water temperatures are low. What the groundbaits do offer is lots of flavours and amino acids which can attract fish without overfeeding them. There are two new videos talking about the new introductions as follows :
EFG130 – Nori (Seaweed) based bait that attracts all species of coarse fish. It’s a finer texture than the well-known EFG131 version and with increased Nori and Krill to make the bait more attractive but less filling. Use it at water temperatures down to 6 degrees. Here’s the video
EFG161 – This is a completely different bait to the other Marukyu groundbaits. It is based on a Japanese bait called TENKAMUSO which is one of the most famous carp baits in Asia. It is designed to appeal to CARP and is sure to do very well on UK commercial fisheries. Another very important point is that it works really well with a method mould, something which most of the other Marukyu groundbaits aren’t awfully good at. Anyhow, watch the video and let Roy Marlow show you just what a versatile bait EFG161 can be
The range of groundbaits in the Marukyu range can seem pretty confusing, especially when they include ingredients that we’ve never heard of before.
With this in mind, the company has made a couple of new videos.
The first one talks about the range and which bait to use in any particular circumstances
And the second video shows the Explosive Formula groundbaits in action
There’s a high resolution copy of the groundbait selection chart here
All of the groundbaits can be ordered online from the Marukyu Online Shop
